Roland Springs Community Association Pool Party Guidelines/Reservation
For liability purposes, all pool parties must be supervised by the pool management company, DRD Pool Management. Baltimore City Health Department dictates that there must be one lifeguard per thirty (30) people. Should the pool exceed thirty (30) people as the result of a party being held, a second lifeguard will be required to ensure safe swimming for everyone on site. Further information on this is found below.
Our community offers two (2) options for parties – ‘Open’ and ‘Closed.’
An Open Party allows you to celebrate your occasion during regular operating hours. If there are more than thirty (30) people present because of the party, an additional lifeguard will be required per extra thirty (30) people. The cost of the extra lifeguard(s) will be assumed by the party host. There is a community fee of $25 in addition to any cost for additional lifeguard(s). There will be no alcohol permitted at an Open party.
Open Party Payment: Community fee ($25) + supplemental DRD lifeguard(s) fee ($30 per additional lifeguard, paid directly to pool management company) + $50 Security deposit.
A Closed Party allows the resident to have exclusive use of the pool during the first or last hour of operation. In that time, only the host and their guests will be permitted at the pool. If the Closed party is held at the beginning of the day, at the conclusion of the hour, the host and their guests are welcome to remain at the pool, which will then be open to the rest of the community. Similarly, the host and guests are welcome to start their party before the last hour of operation, while other residents are present.
Residents and guests of those residents will be made aware ahead of time that the pool will be closing for a private party one (1) hour early or opening one hour late. The property management company will issue a notice to the community making it known that the pool will be closing early or opening late, and the lifeguard on duty will address it on the day of the event. As with the Open party, an additional lifeguard may be required, as determined by the number of attendees.
Alcohol may be served at a Closed party, but only with one (1) month prior notice, and swimming will not be permitted. Please refer to the rules concerning alcohol in the Pool Rules.
Closed parties may not be held on the weekends of Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day.
Closed Party Payment: DRD Pool Management fee ($100) + DRD lifeguard(s) fee ($30 per additional lifeguard, paid directly to pool management company) + $50 Security deposit.
Fees due to DRD Pool Management will be paid directly to DRD and are additional to the community fees. They will reach out to get details directly from you and discuss payment at that time. The Community and Security deposit must be paid by credit card on the form below..
*It is strongly suggested that those planning a pool party event have a backup plan in the event of bad weather, or unsuitable conditions which may cause the pool to be unavailable for use on the date planned.
